The Church is made up of people, normal people, working together and for each other. In 1 Corinthians this is called the body of Christ. And the head of the Body id Jesus Christ. He is the leader of His church, and we are led by God the Holy Spirit.
But God has also called people to lead. In the Bible they are called Elders (Acts 14:23).
We have a leadership team of three elders. Phil Rogers, Phil Draper and Dave Rogers.
Phil Rogers has been the lead elder and pastor of Ascot Baptist Church since April 1997. He is responsible for the overall leadership of the church as well as the preaching and teaching. Phil is married to Sandy and they have three sons, Dave, Andy and Tim all of whom are married, and three grandsons.
Phil’s day off is Friday
Phil Draper has been one of the Elders at ABC for 17 years and heads up all our Children’s Ministries. Phil is married to Janice, a full time physiotherapist, and they have a son and daughter, Mark and Clare.
